What's the deal with Ebates ?

You know how sometimes you put on a jacket you haven't worn in awhile and there's a $20 bill in the pocket?  Ebates is like that.  BPM (Bonus Pocket Money).

What does Ebates give you?

Ebates gives you cash back for your online shopping.  You go to their website and then use their link to your favorite store where you will shop like normal.  Ebates will credit you back a % of your shopping purchase. To date, I have earned over $200 from Ebates.

What % does Ebates pay?

The percent varies per store and even per day.  For example, around Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Ebates will have a lot of stores with 10, 20, even 40% cash back!  Other times of the year I find 3-10% to be typical.

What stores does can you earn cash back from? 

Too many to list! Sephora, Ulta, Kohls, JCPenney, Toys R Us, Lands End, LLBean, Forever 21, Living Social, Staples, eBay, Pier 1, even Hotels.com!

When do you get the money?

Ebates pays out once per quarter, so you can expect to get a check 4 times a year.  You can opt to have it deposited to your PayPal account instead of getting a check.

Is there a minimum to get money back?

You are not required to spend a certain amount at the store.  I've had shopping trips where I earned 5 cents! :)  Ebates will send you a check for the yearly quarter if your balance is above $5. If you've not yet earned $5 back, the balance will stay in your account and roll over until you do reach a $5 payout threshold.

How much have you earned?

To date, I have made a little over $200 with ebates.  My husband has his own account (he prefers to online shop without me knowing. lol!) and I don't know what he has earned!  I average 3 checks per year at about $20 each.  $60 a year for buying stuff I was going to buy anyway?  I'll take it!

How else can you earn with Ebates?

You can also earn money through referrals.  My links in this post are referral links. If you join, you'll get your own referral link to give out!  When your referral spends $25 at an Ebates store (remember that list of Kohls, Sephora, Target, etc?), they get $10 and you get $25!

How much does it cost to sign up?

Ebates is completely free to join.  There are no hidden fees.  The only money spent is what you buy at a store.  The prices at the store are NOT increased because you are shopping via ebates. If a shirt at Target is $20, when you buy it via ebates it will still be $20---except you'll get a little bit of that money BACK!

This is seriously my new favorite thing.  There's nothing like getting a little extra cash especially now with all the holiday shopping!
