Friday Funnies
Every Friday we celebrate here with Friday Funnies. This week's 3 funnies are ones I just found this week on pinterest.
First. This cat would scare the boogers out of me.
source
I'm sorry if you are more sophisticated than thinking "T-Rex had really short arm-jokes" are funny. I'm not. Trex will never cease to make me laugh and I have a tshirt from walmart to prove it. So when this dinosaur comic showed up in the humor section of pinterest this week...it was destined to go on my Funnies board.
source
Finally, how in the WORLD does this happen to a bus??

Don't miss out on the funny stuff during the week. Follow my funnies pinterest board here, or 'like' the blog's facebook page here.

Back to the Grind (teacher gift)
Here's a simple back to school gift for your child's teacher, principal, or school secretary.
I decorated this little card and attached it to a bag of coffee.
"Welcome back to the grind." haha. Get it? :)

Now here are the questions for MY nominees:
1-- What is the most recent book you read?
2-- If you had 3 dogs, what would you name them?
3-- Most embarrassing thing to ever happen to you?
4-- If you had $1,000 that you had to spend RIGHT NOW on yourself (not your kids, family, friends, just YOU), what would you get?
5-- If you had $1,000 that you had to give away within the next 24 hours...what would you do with it?

Ten things about myself:
- My hair was crazy crazy light blonde as a child. Now, if I want to be blonde I have to make an appointment and pay money for it.
- My first job was at a restaurant. I loved it.
- My next job was working for a private racing company. I loved it.
- My 3rd job was at the YMCA. I hated it.
- This year my husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary.
- He makes a mean blackberry cobbler. I would've married him sooner if I'd have known it back then.
- You know how you win goldfish at the fair and they die really fast? I had one that lived over a year in a recycled pickle bologna jar.
- If you don't know what pickle bologna is, I feel sorry for you.
- Thursday nights I watch Grey's Anatomy. People know not to call me from 9-10pm.
- My parents and I would call each other during the Presidential Debates. "Hello?" "Did you hear/see that?" "Yes! hahaha" "okay bye." This continued off and on during all of the debates. We also do it during State of the Union addresses. "Hello?" "What did he just put in his mouth?" "Was that a pill?" "I think it was a mint."

3 things I love about Swagbucks
In doing so, you earn what are called "Swagbucks" that can then be redeemed for things. I save my swagbucks and always get Amazon gift cards.
Do you hear me? A free gift card to Amazon!
This week I'm cashing in my swagbucks for another $5 gift card to Amazon. FREE IS GOOD.
Why do I love swagbucks? Here are the top 3 reasons:
1. Swagbucks is easy to use. I've joined other things before that required you spend $ before getting a percent back (ebates), or that had horribly hard to use sites. If *I*, who has ran into other people's mailboxes and spent months thinking captcha was turned off for commenting, can master the swagbucks website, anyone can.
what swagbucks look like on your screen |
2. They have games. I know, I know, your all still obsessed with Farmville or Candy Crush. BUT, playing games on the swagbucks site has actually earned me swagbucks, so its like getting PAID to sit there and play a game. That's how I justify "just 2 more minutes" in my mind.

3. Free. Stuff. I mean, being easy to use and having games is one thing, but I wouldn't do it if there wasn't something in it for me. I've heard of some people (Money Saving Mom maybe?) that bank their amazon gift cards and use it towards purchasing Christmas presents for their family members.
Use the $5 to splurge on a book for yourself, save up a few of the gift cards and buy something for a charity, there are lots of ways to use your free amazon gift cards from swagbucks!
*amazon is not the only gift card option. There are lots of other stores that you can get gift cards from, or you can choose the PayPal option.
If you want to go to swagbucks, you can join through my referral link right here. I get no cash for you joining, but I do earn some swagbucks.

Wishlist Wednesday (fabric!)
I've been sewing more lately, and therefore growing my fabric wishlist. I thought today I'd share some of my favorite current prints with you!
Fat Quarter Shop (image from their too) has this great gray and yellow.
For the kids, they also have this ADORABLE fabric
It has a panel option too if you want to go that route. My 3 year old saw me looking at it and said "Hey! Firetruck!"
Julie from The Intrepid Thread has the new Woodland Pals stuff:
Isn't that the cutest thing? The little racoons crack me up.
One more, also from The Intrepid Thread. World Tour. Not little kidsy like Ruff n' Tuff or Woodland Pals, this fabric collection is ornate and for grown ups:
Isn't it just GORGEOUS!?
There you have it, my current fabric wishlist. What about you? Is there a fabric or project you've had on your wishlist for awhile? Leave a link to it in the comments (as if I need MORE fabric to covet! ha!).
---
By the way, NONE of the links are affiliate links. I get jack-diddly-squat if you go there and buy something, but by all means, if you love the fabric, knock yourself out!

Uh, Sorry About That
A blogger's apology.
You know how when you go to a blog and you want to leave a comment, sometimes one of these dastardly things pops up:
Don't you hate those? Half the time I can't even tell what it says and I'm squinting and thinking "is that an l or an r???!", and heaven forbid you guess wrong and have to start over. Or try to guess at the letters from your phone.
Those little word thingys are called captchas, they allegedly help prevent spam although I'm thinking they are maybe just to annoy the heck out of us.
I decided not to use it on my blog. Just leave a comment, I'll deal with the spam, whatevs man.
Mmmhmm. For MONTHS I thought captcha was gone and it wasn't! And you kind souls left comments anyway. Sorry about that.
It really is truly gone now. I found the box to uncheck. Promise.

mom memories
Everyone tells mothers to "cherish these days". "They go fast." "You'll miss the little things."
When my kids are grown and out of the house, I will miss little handprint smudges on the walls, windows, every counter surface.
When my kids are grown and out of the house, I will miss the sometimes-complex bedtime routines.
When my kids are grown and out of the house, I will miss hearing about the school day.
I will miss cheering at soccer games and belt graduations at karate.
I will miss helping a little one wash his little hands.
I will miss seeing the older one's Lego projects and skateboard tricks.

I will NOT miss getting them {up}, {dressed}, {fed}, and {out} the door for church on Sunday mornings. Not. One. Bit..
Let's hear it moms: What will you NOT miss 5, 10, 15 years from now? Sound off in the comments!
