We have 2 great ministers at our church (and 4 lousy ones. LOL. TOTAL JOKE, we only have 2 ministers in all).
To kick off the month, I wanted to do a little something for them, so I came up with this
and delivered it to the church office. The green Dollar Tree container is filled with gum, York peppermint patties, Andes mints, dinner mints, lifesaver mints and Junior Mints. Total cost was right at $10.
We love our pastors!
Do you or your church do anything for your ministerial staff this month? Chime in down in the comments!

That is a great idea. I am going to forward this to my church's youth group leaders!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that October was Pastor/Minister Appreciation month. That is such a great idea. The kids usually participate in children's programs but not sure what they're doing this month.
ReplyDeleteI didnt know that either. I admit, I havent been to church for awhile-I watch it on tv-That's a cute idea with the mints!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to honor your pastor. I can see this working for many different people too (commit-mint to your students, to your patients, to your children, etc).
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! You can adapt this for a lot of different appreciation gifts. :)
DeleteOh how super neat! Your joke totally cracked me up, hahahaha. I love our pastor in our little small-town church but I had no idea it was minister appreciation month! The Good News Club did celebrate his birthday a week or two ago though, and I think he had fun at that :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad someone got the joke! LOL
DeleteThis is a sweet idea! I loved your joke as well! I know prior churches we were at we went together on gifts that were specific to the pastor's lifestyles and needs. It was neat to have the gifts so original.
ReplyDeleteYou are a witty lady my friend. I love this idea for loving on our Pastors. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHow can I print this tag? I love it!
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn! I don't think I still have the file this was in but I made the tag using picmonkey (a free, easy to use site). I think you could recreate it there pretty easily. Let me know if you have more questions and thanks for coming by. :)
DeleteThanks! I will give it try! Great site...I'll be exploring here more often!

DeleteI have never used PicMonkey and just tried to make something like that. I cannot seem to just create it, it wants to open it somewhere on my computer and move it into there. Hmmm. Can you tell me how you created it?
DeleteHi Tina! Yes, so I made it in PicMonkey. Once you are done with all your font/etc you click "Save" in picmonkey and it will save it to your computer as a picture. That's what I did. Then I just opened up a Word document and did "insert picture" and stuck the PicMonkey image in there.
DeleteLet me know if you have any more questions. :)
I like this idea - our pastor's appreciation is next month - I will definitely use this idea! Thanks
