my black friday loot

Victorious! I got my season of The Big Bang Theory for $12.99 and just as I suspected, no one trampled me for it.

Instead of going to Target when they opened at midnight, I waited until about 6am. It was FINE. They had all but one thing I wanted...the $10 Angry Birds pajama pants. There were plenty of Family Guy left but I didn't want Stewie. Stewie is shocked that I didn't want him on my pants.

Oh and the 18pc cookware set for $40 was gone, but my friend who went at midnight couldn't even get one. So I don't feel bad.

Scored some inexpensive dvds. This is the only time of year I buy movies. I can't bring myself to pay $15 during the year. This little voice inside my head says "But that will only be $4.99 on black friday!!" The voice sounds a lot like this lady:

On to Meijer. Of course they were out of the Angry Birds board game I wanted (are you seeing a theme here?) but they did have a couple board games that I scooped up for us as a family gift for eight bucks each.

And folks that is about it! I did go back to Meijer on Saturday to use their Santa Bucks. Have you ever used them? Lesson learned: they do not apply to diaper purchases. Darn. But I did finish my shopping for my husband and kids and got some gift wrap.

Here we are, about 26 days from Christmas. All I have left to do is WRAP. What about you? Are you done shopping? Just starting?! Not celebrating at all?

Happy Festivities!

My youngest has an ear infection from a place that rhymes with "bell."

They gave him Omnicef and he had an allergic reaction.

(I couldn't find any un-nasty photos of an
ear infection or rash. so here is a picture of a sad looking dog.)

Husband, a freak who is never ill, actually needs to see a doctor this week.

And in the midst of all this we have Thanksgiving, Black Friday, a baby shower to attend, and boy scout popcorn to deliver!

(this Target Commercial Lady is my Role Model)

SO. This will be my only post for this week. Happy Thanksgiving to my U.S. friends, and to my friends across the pond. . .nevermind. :)

If any of you shop for Black Friday, think of me! I'll be out in the wee hours hitting up Target!

(Not going for any big electronics.
The odds of me getting trampled
on my way to buy "The Big Bang Theory" season 1
for $12.99 are slim)
BIG BANG THEORY Bazinga Sheldon Tee Shirt

I'll be back next week with the updates from my Space Bag trial, visiting the Container Store, and a new quilt being planned!

Organization Mission

How am I just now finding the blog I heart Organizing?

It is incredible! I spent a good 2 hours reading it over the weekend and getting inspired!

IHeart Organizing

Look at her Lego storage. LOOK!

Then she has this great post on how to organize and save kids hand me down clothes. I should really get crackin' on that.
Our 1 yr old has obviously outgrown some things that I want to save. Her system is a lot better than my "throw it in a random box and shove in the closet" method. You should see how much she can fit in ONE of those drawers!

Now I'm all fired up to organize this house! Starting with my donation items first. I hit jackpot at a few yard sales this summer and bought clothes for our church's back-to-school clothes giveaway.

Problem is that i have to STORE them until next August. I bought myself one of these:image from drugstore.com

A space bag. I think I got the "sweater" storage one. Going to try it out today and see if it is all that it is cracked up to be!

After that I am tackling our medicine storage.

If you saw my pantry you would tell me I should start there. Well. To that I say "No one starts mountain climbing by going to Everest!"

I have to start smaller, with goals that are achievable and won't burn me out. Baby steps.

If you don't hear from me soon, call for help, I may be trapped inside the space bag.

Simple Sweet Bread

I made this last night and it is awesome! It's a beer bread recipe but I'm not a fan of beer so I used sprite instead. The bread is chewy and sweet, almost hawaiian tasting.

You have got to try it!

3 C sifted self-rising flour (or spoon it into the measuring cup to prevent it from packing in the measuring cup)
1/4 C sugar
1 tsp salt
1 can Sprite
1/4 C butter, melted.

Mix flour, sugar, salt, and sprite in a bowl. Spread into a loaf pan or pie plate. Pour the melted butter on top and bake at 350 for about an hour.

EASY!
