Today we celebrate the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. Last week I read a book to some of my students ("March On" by Martin Luther King, Jr's sister) and learned that his birth name had not been Martin. His father learned about Martin Luther and was so impressed he changed both his own name and his son (MLK Jr)'s name. Isn't that interesting? Here's a History Channel link if you want to read more about it.
We've all seen various quotes from MLK, Jr. "Hate cannot drive out hate..." "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" and so on. He was such a wise man. That book that I read to students was phenomenal. Today I'm sharing 7 of his lesser known quotes. I found these and made them into graphics. These quotes don't make the rounds on social media as much but I found each of them to be important.
